WE'RE GOING GLOBAL!

April has been one crazy month. Apart from the weddings, the weather is just sizzling hot at 36 degrees every single day. Thank goodness for the tons of good things coming our way, we don't feel the heat anymore! And how awesome are these two international features?! The first one is in Destination Inspirations which specializes in destination weddings. The second one, however, is what brought us to Cloud 9: our first-ever appearance on Green Wedding Shoes! For years, GWS has been our source of inspiration and we always share their posts on our Facebook! It's just amazing that at last, we get featured in their pages! I hope our fresh flowers get featured next time, but for now, kudos to our DIY team, {etc} Handmade Goodness, for making it to GWS!

For our Cuban-inspired wedding below, please read all about it HERE. Awesome to be featured along with friends (MyPhotato, Toto Villaruel, Passion Cooks, & The Mango Farm)! Woot! Congratulations, everyone!

The second set is our first-ever Green Wedding Shoes feature! I think every wedding supplier around the world would do anything to have a wedding featured in a US blog like GWS and wow, a dream come true! *faints* Read all about it HERE. Super thanks to your couple, Cyrus & Kai, for making it all happen. Awesome to be working with international photographer, Nelwin Uy, too, who's making a wave around the world for his beautiful pictures. Nelwin is the only second Filipino photographer whose work is featured in GWS (the first was MangoRed). Woot! Here's to more features! ^_^

FEATURE: BEHIND-THE-SCENES COVERAGE

How awesome is this concept?! Upon the request of Weddings@Work founders, Abet & Benz Rana, photographer Benjie Tiongco set out to do the previously impossible: to cover a wedding from start to finish - literally.

A normal afternoon wedding coverage has a call time of around 10-11AM, but Benjie was already shooting at 11,30PM - the day before! We even recall Benjie texting us at around 2AM asking permission to shoot us while working, but we were already Dreamland-bound by then since we finished our arrangements by midnight. By 8,30AM, we were already waiting for him to arrive at Sofitel to cover our arrival since we got there first. After shooting our segment, we bade him goodbye and good luck and the rest is history. We have to give it to Benjie for his great curiosity & passion: something that young people still surprisingly possess in this day and age.

As we wrote on our Facebook page, we hope that this set help bring more appreciation for the things we do for our couples. Yes, we do get paid for it, but we work with our minds & hearts 100% focused on bringing you our best. Enjoy the coverage here. ^_^

BRIDETASTIC: ABU + RASHI

Yay, that was quick (they just got married last December!) but as bride Rashi wrote on her Facebook Wall, it's a sign that all the hard work has paid off. We can only agree with her. There may not have been tons of details (of the overwhelming kind, that is), but there are enough details that pretty much complemented their concept. We love it that this wedding looked so tied-up together, so well-thought of. So, well, cheers to more awesome weddings on Bridetastic!

WE'RE ON 'SMALL SHOP'!

While crawling the web for links to our website, boy, were we surprised to see that our Green-Black-White tablescape (shot originally for Wedding Essentials magazine last year by Aldwin Aspillera at the Dusit Thani Manila) was featured last December 2011 on the blog of brand stylist, Erika Brechtel! You can see the page here. She writes,"I would die for one of my dinner settings to ever look remotely like the one in that first shot!"

Ha ha! This totally made my day. ^_^

WE'RE ON METRO WEDDINGS! ^_^

It has been a really quiet November 1, and we found ourselves casually buying this issue and while having chai tea latte at Gateway's Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, we almost fell off our chair when we saw this wedding featured on p. 220, towards the end of what Metro Weddings dubbed as Best Weddings 2011. I know that would raise a lot of eyebrows (you know who you are, ha ha!), but this issue does feature a lot of weddings that made waves this year, not just for their darling details, but for the heart-warming stories that make every wedding oh-so special. ^_^

What bride, Joan, wrote was something we all could learn from:"Looking back, ours is definitely not a perfect story. It is one filled with hiccups, struggles, and questions, but it is filled with love, heart, and a good strong support system of genuinely great people. One thing's for sure, in God, the "we" that we are makes absolute sense."

We are thankful for this first-ever feature on Metro Weddings. The new issue is out now in your favorite bookstores! ^_^

WE'RE ON MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS! ^_^

--
In what we consider a major feat for 2011, one of our weddings got featured in the Martha Stewart Weddings Philippines September '11-February '12 issue. Although we think the photos used could be better (see more here & here), we're still delighted just the same! A very warm thank you to everyone who made this possible! Photos by Mimi + Karl.

Also, on the page featuring the masters of Philippine wedding photo & videography, we got to style the shoot featuring Nelwin Uy, Mervin Gobaco, Lito Sy, and Paul Vincent. They also wore some of our customized boutonnieres, prototypes that were produced by our DIY team from {etc} Handmade Goodness. Awesome, awesome! Special thanks to Feliz Lucas & Nelwin Uy for this opportunity. ^_^

SPECIAL FEATURE: VATEL MANILA GETS BLOGGED!

Now I know how it feels to be stalked and I actually like it! Ha ha! What's so amazing about it is that they're not Vatel Manila brides, and I haven't had the honor of meeting them yet! How cool is that?! Ladies, THANK YOU SO MUCH for featuring me in your blogs! Totally appreciate it. Here's sharing the love to our other friends. :-)

It all started with Moons and Junes and Ferris Wheels. Writer and bride-to-be, Blanche Rivera, wrote me months back requesting for a list of my favorite bouquets because she wants to feature them in her blog. What happened after was me making muni-muni and eventually making a list of 15 past works from which she chose her favorite 7. The result was a heart-warming (sometimes amusing) commentary on my work as a wedding florist. For this, I owe her a huge favor. :-)

The Wedding Enthusiast is run by Meleen Rodriguez-Carlos, an avowed wedding fanatic. And who wouldn't go agog over weddings with all its twists and complications, beliefs and reliefs, exasperations and exultations? Okay, i'm getting emotional. Seriously, weddings are truly life's grandest celebration. The fact that you only do it once (some more than once, unfortunately) makes the preparations an experience you don't want to go though ever again. But at the end of the day, who's looking at the past? It's the now and the future that matters.
