REAL WEDDING: { ERIC & ANGELA } BORACAY

--
"I wanna love ya, I wanna love and treat ya - love and treat ya right. I wanna love you every day and every night: We'll be together, with a roof right over our heads!" - Is This Love, Bob Marley

While scanning the web today, we came across these photos of Eric and Angela's wedding in Boracay back in 2011 - one of our early forays into the island wedding scene (with much support from the Boracay Weddings team, of course!). Although this ain't a lot, this and the accompanying SDE by Jason Magbanua pretty much sums up how wonderful this wedding was, even if it was already five years ago.

We recall that the weather was on-and-off sunny and then rainy for days before the wedding, which is why you must listen in closely to Groom Eric's vows. Eric Aguirre, also known around the music world as DJ Vice, is the king of the dance floor in several clubs in the USA. He also spins live on air at Power 106 in Los Angeles. You can read more about him HERE.

Meanwhile, do enjoy this trip down memory lane! ^_^

REAL WEDDING: { JONATHAN & HAEZEL }

--
Despite the 'Manila' in our brand, we're actually very provinciano by heart. This 2011 wedding in Davao City is special to us because it represented a homecoming of sorts to our place of birth. Jonathan and Haezel, who are both based abroad, were very hands on during the preps. We got to chat with them a lot during the course of the planning and they've been really helpful in terms of giving us a firm view of how they want their wedding to be. Too bad though that we weren't ready then for out-of-town reception styling (that would have been really swell, if ever!). We remember Jonathan and Haezel as among the kindest people we've ever encountered; you can really feel their goodness coming through.

It's also amazing that we got to work with mostly Visayan-speaking suppliers. From Tito Cecilio Abad (who hails from Bacolod) to Ryan Ortega (who referred us; from Davao) and MVP Digital (from Cagayan de Oro, my other home). This wedding opened a lot of doors for us in that we now do a lot of destination weddings. Out-of-Manila events now comprise 10% of our total events in a year with Boracay being our major market, followed by Cebu, Davao / General Santos, and Bohol. More than anything, we have our fellow suppliers to thank for bringing us to these wonderful places. May our good Lord bless you all for your generosity and kindness. ^_^

 Today, dear readers, we proudly present the wedding of Jonathan & Haezel. Enjoy! ^_^

REAL WEDDING: { JOMS & ABBY } USA

Long before it became quite the trend to bring in items & ideas from America for use in Philippine weddings, our craft team, {etc} Handmade Goodness, already made a mark by doing the opposite: by sending our items to the US for a wedding there instead.

Of course this wouldn't have been possible without the support of couples like Joemar & Marvie who trusted us to do the right thing despite the team being a new player back then (this was in November 2011 - the year the craft team was born!) and looking back at this laid-back but elegant wedding, boy are we glad to have been a part of it!

We were just thrilled to find out where the wedding venue was and we felt that although the planning was made miles away and we only met Bride Marvie in Manila a few days before she was about to leave, that all the details really came together beautifully.

Here's looking back at that wonderful Autumn day in New York almost two years ago.
