WORKSHOP: { FIRESTARTER YEAR 2 }

--
There's something about learning sessions that attract us, much like a moth to the flame (sans the disastrous end, of course). Growing up in a household where Mom was an English Literature teacher who was known to have lovingly terrorized her students back in her heydays made us appreciate continuing education more, and now that we move within the wedding industry, it's not a surprise that we'd end up supporting awesome learning activities like the Firestarter

Lisa of Jeff & Lisa Photography, co-founder of this endeavor, first broached this idea to us last year and now that we're on our second year together with other partners & sponsors, we're very happy to know that this activity continues to inspire so many young people to keep doing what they're doing, not because they need to, but because they want to.  Inspiration is a wonderful thing. As Eleanor Roosevelt puts it, it's doing one thing that scares you - every day. It truly is a leap of faith.

We at Vatel Manila are proud to be a part of this wonderful workshop. Here's to more years of rekindling flames & starting fires!

Much Love, Dylan

THE 2011 W@W TOP TEN SUPPLIERS OF THE YEAR VIDEOS

Just because you missed being at the 2011 WeddingsAtWork (W@W) Awards doesn't mean you won't be able to enjoy the awesome, awesome, awesome collaboration between photographer, Paul Vincent, and videographer, Pheoben Teocson. The first video which presented the 11 wedding suppliers who made it to the Top 10 was simply mind blowing! Done in a comic book style using Paul Vincent's photos, it was really something we've never seen before! Again, congratulations to all our fellow suppliers who made it to this year's list! Enjoy! ^_^

W@W TOP TEN SUPPLIERS OF THE YEAR (2011)

--
This year's finalists were gathered for a shoot in Filling Station, a bar in Burgos St., Makati that's filled to the brim with authentic vintage items like soda signages, fridge, bikes with tassels and baskets, post boxes, and all sorts of things people these days would kill for.

To jive with the set, we were asked to come in retro outfits. We chose the 80's New York Grunge Rock look (think RENT) since we are not fond of loud colors, and downed two large orders of mango shake to endure the heat of having to don a leather jacket (so this is what tiis ganda means!).

Boy, were we delighted to know that our friend, Paolo Feliciano, has volunteered to shoot, too! Here's sharing his awesome take on this once-in-a-lifetime experience to be under the spotlight. Enjoy! ^_^
